3.1. Project: EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF SOLID WASTE ON AMAZONIAN BIODIVERSITY
Objective: To assess the pollution of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in four Amazon River basins, generating information on the impact of solid waste and the degree of impact on associated biodiversity. Community-based biocultural monitoring with the indigenous peoples living near these river basins is crucial for the entire Pan-Amazon region.

3.3. Project: MINING AND DEFORESTATION: ANALYSIS OF IMPACTS AND VIABILITY OF CONSERVATION MECHANISMS
Objective: To analyze the economic, social, and environmental factors that influence deforestation in Zamora Chinchipe, with an emphasis on mining, to assess its impacts and the viability of REDD+ and South-South Cooperation in mitigating it. This is important for all Amazonian countries.

3.2. Project: STUDY OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINATION, HEALTH STATUS OF THE POPULATION EXPOSED TO HG AND DEVELOPMENT OF A REMEDIATION PROPOSAL
Objective: To assess the ecotoxicological consequences of mercury use in river gold mining in the northern Bolivian Amazon, analyze its effects on the health of exposed communities, and develop appropriate methodologies for its mitigation and environmental remediation. These are problems common to all Amazonian countries.
