Objective: To coordinate efforts in the Amazon region to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, focusing on protecting the forest and its people. To this end, ACTO seeks to strengthen regional cooperation, promote sustainable development, manage knowledge, and engage indigenous peoples and local communities in adaptation and conservation actions, especially through projects and programs that contribute to the organization's strategic objectives.
Objective: This theme aims to create an operational and instrumental framework of consensual strategies and indicators, mainly in the development of activities that allow the strengthening of Public Health Surveillance, with an emphasis on Environmental Health in the Amazon Region and in the development of health strategies aligned with national health systems.
Objective: To promote the sustainable, economically, and environmentally responsible use of forest resources, ensuring their conservation for current and future generations. This involves forest management to supply essential products, maintain ecological balance, generate wealth, employment, and income, as well as protect biodiversity and the ecosystem as a whole.
Objective: To promote and improve the quality of life in the Amazon region, especially for vulnerable groups and indigenous peoples, through sustainable development, food security, and resource management initiatives that respect their rights, cultures, and traditional knowledge. The organization seeks to integrate these populations into regional development, ensuring their inclusion and participation in decision-making processes and activities that affect their territories and resources.
Objective: to promote the conservation and sustainable use of the Amazon's rich biological diversity, while supporting indigenous peoples and local communities, strengthening the management of protected areas, and the sustainable use of biodiversity for biotrade, all in line with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
