The official Pre-COP30 program began last Thursday (October 9th) at the Chamber of Deputies in Brasília. At the invitation of the environmental organization International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF), the president of the Association of Amazonian Universities (UNAMAZ), José Seixas Lourenço, participated in the event alongside the organization's consultant, Ambassador Carlos Alfredo Lazary.

Throughout the day, the agenda included several panels and experts. Among the highlights was the Parliamentary Dialogue "Bioeconomy for the Conservation of the Amazon," promoted with the support of the Parliamentary Group of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (GP-OTCA), which discussed the importance of fostering an economy based on sustainability and the valorization of natural resources in the Amazon region.

The presence of UNAMAZ reinforces the institution's commitment to actions aimed at environmental conservation and the sustainable use of Amazonian resources.
